Interior cage for the 1973-1991 Chevrolet/GMC K5 Blazer/Jimmy. The cage is a full front to rear body-mounted unit. It has been designed as a complete bolt in and together system without any required welding. The installation can be accomplished without the removal of the top or any of the seats. The cage is compatible with factory seats and seat belts. Tubing is 1-3/4” x .120 DOM for the main bars and 1-1/2” x .120 DOM for all cross and intermediate structures. $1600.00

There were several factors that were considered when designing this interior cage for the K5 Blazers. We wanted the system to be user friendly to install assuming that most owners did not posses a welder that could otherwise be required to install a cage, therefore a bolt together unit was designed. We wanted it to require the least amount of removal of parts from the vehicle such as the top, as it usually requires more than one person to remove and then reinstall. A major factor in the scheme of things was transportation to the end user, as the cage would have to go by truck freight regardless. If the cage were one piece or even large welded together pieces the freight rate would be exorbitant. Additionally, it was decided to use urethane bushings in lieu of a solid metal bushing to minimize any rattle noises that could present themselves to the occupants of the vehicle. This interior cage is not intended to be a competition item and not a substitute for safe driving but should the unexpected occur it will provide some additional measure of security over and above nothing at all beside the vehicle sheet metal and fiberglass top.
